Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing

Our Kathmandu Balthali Village Tour starts with exploring various sites in Kathmandu. After breakfast, we will prepare for a full day of exploring Kathmandu. Today, we will visit several historical sites in Kathmandu that are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Four of the ten UNESCO heritage sites in Nepal are located in the capital city.

We’ll start our sightseeing at Pashupatinath, a holy Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple showcases the art, architecture, culture, and traditions of the Nepalese people. From Pashupatinath, we’ll drive to Boudhanath, about 11 km from central Kathmandu, which is roughly a 10-minute drive. Boudhanath Stupa is one of Kathmandu’s most striking landmarks, reflecting Tibetan culture, and is often referred to as “Little Tibet.”

Next, we’ll drive for about half an hour to reach Swayambhunath, another sacred Buddhist site. Swayambhunath is one of Kathmandu’s oldest heritage sites, probably 2,500 years old, and is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The stupa is adorned with various shrines and temples, and its unique feature is the Buddha’s eyes and eyebrows painted on it.

Finally, we’ll visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of Kathmandu. This lively area is surrounded by fountains, ancient statues, courtyards, and temples. The complex also includes the Old Royal Palace, which used to be the residence of ancient kings. Not to forget Kumari Ghar, home to the living goddess. Kathmandu Durbar Square is particularly vibrant in the evening, offering a great atmosphere to end our day of exploration.

After enjoying the vibe of Kathmandu, overnight rest in Kathmandu.

Day 3 : Drive to Dhulikhel

After breakfast, we will drive from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel via the Araniko Highway. The drive is about 32 km and takes around an hour. Dhulikhel, located at the eastern rim of the valley, is 1,550 meters above sea level. Dhulikhel is a charming, scenic town located in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal.

This well-preserved Newari settlement is renowned for its splendid mountain viewpoints and is a popular destination for trekking and biking enthusiasts.

Upon reaching Dhulikhel, we will explore several tourist spots, including stunning views of the Himalayas, beautiful landscapes, green jungles, and rural areas with typical local lifestyles. The Himalayan view you can get from Dhulikhel includes the view of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and the Rolwaling Himalayan range. Overnight stay in Dhulikhel.

Day 4 : Dhulikhel to Balthali Village via Namo Buddha

Today, we will hike from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha for about three hours. The hike passes through small farming villages, lush green forests, and ancient temples, allowing you to experience local life.

Namo Buddha is a sacred site for Buddhists, situated on a hill above Panauti. After visiting the stupa dedicated to Lord Buddha, we will either hike for another three hours or drive to reach Balthali Village.
