Poon Hill Trek is one of the renowned and relatively easy trekking routes in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is very famous for its beautiful view of peaks including peaks like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and others. Along with a breathtaking view of the Annapurna range, you will be experiencing the culture and lifestyle of the local Gurung and Magar communities. This offers the pleasure of both nature and the everyday ruler lifestyle of Nepal. Listed as one of the famous treks in Nepal, the Ghorepani poon hill trek is suitable for trekkers of various fitness levels with less to no risk of Acute Mountain Sickness.
Starting the journey from Pokhara, a tourist hub some 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. Spending a day enjoying the city’s attractions, then driving to Nayapul the next morning. Starting the trek to Tikhe Dhunga, there you will enjoy the cozy Magar Village experience. The next day, our trek to Ghorepani will begin, which will last for around 6 hours. Ghorepani showcases diverse landscapes, from charming villages to lush forests. After spending the night in Ghorepani, you will be continuing your journey to Poonhill; you will be doing an early morning hike to view the sunrise at Poon Hill. You will have the chance to experience an astounding Himalayan sunrise in Poonhill, the highest point of this trek (3210m). After enjoying a splendid sunrise and enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will start descending to Ghandruk.
You will continue your journey to Ghandruk through hills and valleys adorned with vibrant rhododendrons blooming in March, offering feasts of colors, sounds, and scents throughout the years. Ghandruk, a captivating Nepalese village steeped in Gurung culture, invites you to experience traditional attire and horseback rides amid its sloping landscape. After a culturally rich day, trekkers descend to Nayapul the next day, where a taxi awaits to whisk them back to Pokhara.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be picked up by our representative and transferred to the chosen hotel. After checking in, you can either rest or explore around the hotel area in Thamel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will drive to Pokhara, which will take 6 to 7 hours. The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is around 200 kilometers. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful hills, gorges, and rivers. Once you reach the hotel, you can take a short tour of Pokhara.

On Day 3 of the journey to Poon Hill, the day begins with a hearty breakfast in Pokhara, followed by a scenic one-hour drive to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. Your trek will start here from Tike Dhunga, which has an elevation of 1495 meters. The approximately four-hour trek is filled with enchanting sights of the surrounding natural beauty. Thikedhunga is a reward for the successful climb on the first day itself. It is a cozy Magar village oozing with culture on every corner. As the day comes to an end, you will arrive at your destination and settle in for the night at a cozy local guest house, ready to rejuvenate for the adventures that lie ahead.
On the fourth day of Poon Hill Trek, you will set out from Tike Dhunga to Ghorepani, which is at an altitude of 2850 meters. The trek to Ghorepani takes approximately 6 hours and offers a blend of challenges and rewards along the way. As the trail continues through diverse terrain, you will be treated to awe-inspiring vistas of lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and towering peaks dotting the horizon.
After reaching Ghorepani, experience local hospitality and rest overnight at a local guest house, recharging for the next day’s adventures and admiring the majestic Himalayan scenery.
Before sunrise, you will have the chance to view the amazing views of Annapurna Range from Poon Hill, the highest point of this trek (3210m). From the platform, the entire mountain range comes into view, each peak showcasing its majestic splendor as it basks in the gentle embrace of the morning sun. After that, enjoying the stunning view of the sunrise and delicious breakfast, you will continue your journey towards Tadapani at an elevation of 2520 meters, which will take you around 8 hours.

Continuing the journey to Ghandruk which leads through hills and valleys adorned with vibrant rhododendron blooms in March, while offering a delightful sensory experience of colors, sounds, and scents throughout the year. The charming village of Ghandruk comes into view, nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Annapurna region. Renowned for its rich Gurung heritage, Ghandruk beckons with its traditional architecture and warm hospitality. Ghandruk is one of Nepal’s most captivating villages, immersing travelers in Gurung culture at every turn. You can partake in trying on traditional Gurung attire or enjoy horseback rides amidst the village’s picturesque slopes.
After an adventure filled with fun, culture, and natural beauty, you will trek down to Nayanpul. The journey takes around 4 hours. You will be taken to Pokhara via Taxi. The drive is around 1 hour. You can rest after reaching the hotel in Pokhara.
On Day 8, the journey concludes with a scenic return from Pokhara to Kathmandu aboard a tourist bus. You can now relax and soak in the picturesque landscapes as you make your way back to Kathmandu.
