The best time to go on the Gokyo Lake to Everest Base Camp Trek via Chola Pass is during the pre-monsoon- March to May and then the post-monsoon time- September to November. This time of the year holds perfect conditions for trekking.

Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival at the Tribuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,345m).Overnight at a hotel.

Welcome to Kathmandu! Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to rest and explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, where you can explore local culture, try delicious Nepali cuisine, or prepare for the exciting adventure ahead. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2 : Morning fly to Lukla (2804 meters) from Kathmandu, trek to Phakding (2610 meters) 3 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

The journey begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla, offering stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. Once we land, the trek starts with a gentle walk to Phakding, passing through charming villages, lush forests, and suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. The fresh mountain air and scenic landscapes set the tone for the trek. Overnight in Phakding.

Day 3 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters) 5 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Today, we trek to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. The trail takes us through pine forests and across the Dudh Koshi River several times. As we approach Namche, the trail gets steeper, but the first glimpse of Mt. Everest keeps us motivated. Namche Bazaar is a lively town with cafes, shops, and stunning mountain views. Day 4 : Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day. Or Hike to Syangboche Everest View hotel to observe close view of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku, Lhotse and back to Guest House. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Acclimatization is key to a successful trek, so today we take it easy. You can explore Namche Bazaar or take a hike up to Syangboche. From the Everest View Hotel, you’ll get a close-up view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Lhotse. After soaking in the breathtaking panoramas, we return to Namche for the night. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5 : Trek to Phorste Thanga (3,680m) - 5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

We leave the main trail and head towards Phorste Thanga, a less-traveled route that offers serene landscapes and the chance to spot wildlife like Himalayan pheasants and musk deer. The trail winds through rhododendron forests, with glimpses of towering peaks all around. Overnight in Phorste Thanga.

Day 6 : Trek to Machherma (4,470m) - 5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today’s trek takes us higher as we ascend to Machherma. The trail offers spectacular views of Cho Oyu, the world’s sixth-highest mountain. We pass through small Sherpa settlements, where you can learn about the local culture. Machherma is known for its beautiful setting amidst the mountains. Overnight in Machherma.

Day 7 : Trek to Gokyo (4,790m) - 5.5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

We continue our journey to Gokyo, a breathtaking village by the side of the pristine Gokyo Lakes. The turquoise waters of the lakes, reflecting the surrounding snow-capped peaks, create a picture-perfect scene. As we reach Gokyo, the views of the Himalayas are simply mesmerizing. Overnight in Gokyo.

Day 8 : Trek to Gokyo Ri (5,364m) and back to Gokyo - 5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

An early morning hike to Gokyo Ri rewards us with one of the most stunning panoramic views in the Everest region. From the summit, you’ll see Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. After soaking in the views, we descend back to Gokyo for a relaxing afternoon by the lake. Overnight in Gokyo.

Day 9 : Trek to Thangna (4,730m) - 4 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Leaving Gokyo, we trek towards Thangna, a small settlement nestled below the Cho La Pass. The trail takes us through a rugged landscape with striking views of the surrounding peaks. It’s a shorter trek today, allowing us to rest and prepare for the challenging day ahead. Overnight in Thangna.

Day 10 : Cross Cho La pass (5,363m) then trek to Dzongla (4,830m) - 7 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today is a challenging but rewarding day as we cross the Cho La Pass, one of the most dramatic high passes in the region. The climb to the top is steep, but the views from the pass are unforgettable. After crossing the pass, we descend to Dzongla, where we can rest and enjoy the mountain scenery. Overnight in Dzongla.

Day 11 : Trek to Lobuche (4,910m ) - 4 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

From Dzongla, we make our way to Lobuche, a small settlement with incredible views of the surrounding peaks. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier, offering a close-up look at the massive ice formations. As we get closer to Everest, the excitement builds. Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 12 : Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) then back to Gorak Shep - 5.5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

The highlight of the trek, today we reach Everest Base Camp. The trail is challenging, but the sense of achievement and the views make it all worthwhile. Standing at the base of the world’s highest mountain is a moment you’ll never forget. After spending time at Base Camp, we return to Gorak Shep for the night. Overnight in Gorak Shep.

Day 13 : Hike up to Kala Patthar (5,555m) early in the morning and trek down to Periche (4,200m) - 6 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

An early morning hike to Kala Patthar offers the best view of Mt. Everest. As the sun rises, the mountains light up in golden hues, creating a magical scene. After capturing these unforgettable moments, we descend to Pheriche, a beautiful village in the Khumbu region. Overnight in Pheriche.

Day 14 : Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860meters), 4 hours. Overnight at Guest House.

We continue our descent to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. The trail passes through lush forests, and the views of Ama Dablam and other peaks are stunning. Upon arrival, we visit the monastery, where you can experience the spiritual ambiance and learn about Buddhist culture. Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 15 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441m) - 5 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today’s trek takes us back to Namche Bazaar. The trail is mostly downhill, passing through forests and small villages. It’s a pleasant walk with time to reflect on the incredible journey so far. Once back in Namche, you can enjoy the lively atmosphere and relax. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 16 : Trek to Lukla (2,804m) - 6 hrs. Overnight at a guesthouse.

On our final day of trekking, we return to Lukla, retracing our steps through familiar terrain. The last leg of the journey offers one last chance to enjoy the beauty of the Khumbu region. Upon reaching Lukla, it’s time to celebrate the completion of the trek. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 17 : Morning flight back to Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel.

We take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu, leaving behind the mountains but taking with us memories that will last a lifetime. Once back in Kathmandu, you can spend the day exploring the city or simply relaxing. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 18 : Departure

It’s time to say goodbye to Nepal. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to do some last-minute shopping or sightseeing. We’ll transfer you to the airport for your departure, wishing you a safe journey home and hoping to see you again for another adventure.
